Phoenix Weather: Storms Bring Cooler Temperatures, Rain, and Snow to Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Multiple storm systems are forecast to bring significant changes to Arizona weather over the next seven days, including cooler temperatures, rain for the Valley, and snow in the High Country.

Rain chances for Friday are near 40%, though the system isn’t expected to deliver substantial rainfall. Activity should be light, ranging from a couple of hundredths to a tenth of an inch across some cities, with higher amounts likely north and east of the Phoenix metro area.

Temperatures will also be slightly cooler on Friday, with a high near 73 degrees in Phoenix. In the High Country, a rain/snow mix is likely throughout the day, with a potential for a light dusting down to 7,500 feet. The highest peaks of the White Mountains and San Francisco Peak could see between 4 to 8 inches of snow.

The initial system will move out of the region by the weekend, promising beautiful conditions for both Saturday and Sunday.

Valentine’s Day on Saturday will be dry and mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-70s. Sunday will be a bit warmer, with increasing clouds throughout the afternoon as the second storm system begins to approach. This next storm appears stronger, bringing increased chances of both rain and snow Monday night into Tuesday.

While there is still uncertainty regarding the exact amount of precipitation, forecasters will provide updates as the system draws closer. Monday will see temperatures in the mid-70s with a slight chance of rain during the day, but those chances will increase overnight into Tuesday.

This system will also bring gusty winds to the high country, along with cooler air, dropping temperatures in the Valley to the upper 60s by Wednesday. This will bring a more winter-like feel to the region.

A more potent storm system is expected to move through the region on Monday and Tuesday, prompting the issuance of First Alert Weather Days for both days. While the timing and moisture levels remain uncertain, Monday night through Tuesday morning are currently predicted to be the most active periods.

In the Valley, the high on Monday, Presidents’ Day, is forecast to be 75 degrees, with a slight chance of rain during the day. Rain chances will climb to 60 to 70% by Monday night and Tuesday morning, with a continued slight chance of rain on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Snow and gusty winds are also likely in the high country during this timeframe. Forecasters will continue to monitor the system and provide updated predictions on timing and snowfall amounts as more information becomes available.

As of 7:32 pm MST on Thursday, February 12, 2026, the National Weather Service reports an unsettled weather pattern developing across the Desert Southwest, with multiple systems expected to bring cooler temperatures and increased rain chances, especially in Arizona’s higher elevations, from late Thursday through Friday. Temperatures are expected to warm up again between systems this weekend.

The 10-day forecast for North Mountain, Phoenix, indicates a 24% chance of rain on Friday, with a high of 69 degrees and a low of 51 degrees. Saturday is expected to be sunny with a high of 73 degrees, and Sunday partly cloudy with a high of 78 degrees. Monday is forecast to be cloudy with a high of 74 degrees and a 14% chance of rain.

Downtown Phoenix is also expected to see scattered showers on Friday, with a 37% chance of rain and a high of 69 degrees. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 74 degrees, and Sunday partly cloudy with a high of 79 degrees.
