Political party leaders visit the projects of the Head of State

The visit began with the myciculture farm in Kibimba in the commune of Giheta, which has the capacity to produce 200 tonnes per year. They also visited the cattle farm in Murayi in the same commune, where 60 cows are raised. Next to it, there is a biogas production installation with a capacity to light 5000 light bulbs.

After Murayi, they went to the locality of Ryankoni, to see the pigsty which contains 329 pigs. In the company of the leaders of the political parties, the Head of State also took them to visit the Canzikiro farm in Bugenyuzi commune in the province of Karusi where he has fish ponds of two categories of tilapia, clarias and carp.

The President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, visited the leaders of political parties approved in Burundi to the modern rabbit slaughterhouse under construction in Gasunu in Giheta commune in the province of Gitega.

Political party leaders, accompanied by the President of the Republic, also visited the Bitare agro-pastoral farm in Bugendana commune. They were informed of a major project to install a dairy and a cheese factory next to the birth center of this farm. In Bitare, visitors to the President of the Republic learned how greenhouse cultivation is developed.

The tour of these political party leaders ended at the major construction site of the extension of the presidential palace of Gitega made up of two large buildings: an office and a residence.

In the same place they visited hutches where rabbit farming is practiced.
The President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye offered them a gift of 11 cows. They were recommended to form a cooperative to efficiently raise these cows.

At the end of the visit, Jacques Bigirimana President of the FNL party praised the bravery of the Head of State for his involvement in development projects.
He indicated that the leaders of the political parties on the experience-sharing visit were inspired and committed to imitating the Head of State each according to their means.

Olivier Nkurunziza, President of the UPRONA Party, appreciated the projects of the Head of State and thanks him for the donation of 11 cows granted to them.
Through the creation of the cooperative as recommended by the Head of State to raise the 11 cows, Olivier Nkurunziza indicated that links of friendship and collaboration between members of different political parties will be strengthened.

According to Révérien Ndikuriyo, the SG of the CNDD-FDD party, this visit is beyond a simple sharing of experience. Rather, it constitutes a strong inspiration for development.

According to him, it is a good opportunity to clean up the political climate in Burundi. For Révérien Ndikuriyo, the suggestion of creating a common cooperative to raise the 11 cows granted by the Head of State on a 2ha plot of land will serve as a model for their supporters.

During the evening, the President of the Republic Evariste Ndayishimiye offered the leaders of the political parties visiting his projects a friendly dinner and gifts to immortalize the event.
