rapper Pooh Shiesty was released from federal prison on wednesday,January 30,2026,after serving time on a firearms charge,Billboard reports. The Gucci Mane-signed artist was originally sentenced to five years and three months in prison in December 2022.
Shiesty, whose real name is Bobby Shmurda, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime in October 2022. The charge stemmed from a shooting in Miami Gardens, Florida, in October 2020. XXL Magazine details the case, noting that Shiesty cooperated with authorities in the investigation.
According to Rap-Up, sources say Shiesty’s early release was due to good behavior and time already served. He is expected to be on supervised release for the remainder of his sentence.
