Porsche Taycan vs. Mercedes: 4264 km in 24 Hours
In November 2025, the Chinese electric sedan Xiaomi SU7 Max traveled 4,264 km in 24 hours on the yancheng ring. A record-breaking feat that nonetheless hides a very different reality for the everyday range of electric cars.
A Chinese sedan that covers as many kilometers as Paris to Tehran in a single day. This is the feat just claimed by the xiaomi SU7 Max, which traveled 4,264 km in 24 hours on a closed circuit. For a French driver accustomed to counting charging stops on the holiday highway, the figure inevitably raises an eyebrow.
behind this endurance record lies a new generation of battery, an electrical architecture designed for high speed, and a well-established strategy of express charging. Xiaomi EV even claims to have beaten benchmarks such as the Xpeng P7, the Mercedes-Benz CLA electric, or the Porsche Taycan. Though, one question remains: these 4,264 km do not correspond at all to the range on a single “full charge,” and the nuance changes everything.
Record of 4,264 km in 24 hours for the Xiaomi SU7 Max
The test took place in China, on the yancheng speed ring, an oval of approximately 7.8 km used for this type of endurance test. The Xiaomi SU7 4,264 km in 24 hours is concrete: the sedan ran without interruption from november 20, 2025 at 10:10 PM to November 21, 2025 at 10:10 PM, with the only breaks being swift stops to recharge. During the test, the car reached up to 240 km/h, while its theoretical top speed is 265 km/h.
Over the entire 24 hours, calculation in hand, the SU7 Max displayed an average speed of 177.67 km/h, including charging stops.
