Celebrities Face Off on the Dance floor, But Does Dance Experience Really Give an Edge?
The glitz and glamour of StarDance, the Czech Republic’s beloved dance competition, is captivating audiences once again. But beyond the dazzling costumes and impressive routines, a engaging question emerges: Does having a background in dance truly give celebrities an advantage?
Boxer Martina Ptáčková, known for her powerful punches, admits she’s facing an uphill battle against her more rhythmically inclined competitors. “It’s incredibly easy when you get a trained dancer,” she laughs, “And there are plenty of them in this season! But Dominik got me, the complete opposite, someone who really can’t dance at all!”
ptáčková, partnered wiht professional dancer dominik Vodička, was eliminated in the semifinals.
The Choreographer’s Challenge
oskar Hes, son of the late choreographer Richard Hes and dancer Marcela Karleszová, acknowledges his dance background is a plus. “Of course, it’s an advantage,” he says.”But because I’m capable of doing more steps and learning quickly, Kateřina [bartuněk Hrstková, his partner] pushes me harder. She creates more complex choreography for me, so it’s challenging for me too.”
Hes, who danced his way too a bronze medal with Olympic kayaker vavřinec Hradilka last season, points out that bartuněk Hrstková tailors her routines to her partners’ abilities. “She sees that I can keep up, that I learn faster than some of her previous partners in StarDance, or even complete beginners who have never danced before. So, she gives me more demanding routines,” he explains.
The Verdict is Still Out
While dance experience undoubtedly provides a foundation, StarDance proves that determination, hard work, and a willingness to learn can bridge the gap. As the competition heats up, viewers are left to wonder: will natural rhythm prevail, or will trained talent ultimately take the crown?
StarDance Secrets: Eben Spills the Tea on Pay and Pressure

“As a child, I was dedicated to hip hop at a high level. We even competed in national championships, but standard dance is a entirely different beast,” Hes admitted.
He also revealed that the judges, including the ever-critical Lucie Vondráčková,have high expectations for him.
“There’s a lot riding on my shoulders. When we pull off a great routine, viewers immediately start wondering what’s next. It has to be just as good, or even better! So, we have to train like crazy,” Eben explained.
While Eben didn’t disclose specific details about his StarDance salary, his comments hint at the demanding nature of the competition and the pressure to deliver top-notch performances week after week.

StarDance Fever: Can underdog Marta Dancingerová Steal the Show?
The StarDance finale is upon us, and while oskar Hes is the bookies’ favorite, history shows that the competition is anything but predictable. Last year,Olympic snowboarder Eva Adamczyková,a strong contender, finished second, proving that anything can happen on the dance floor.”The competition is unpredictable, but I’m rooting for Marta Dancingerová and Martin Prágr,” says former StarDance contestant and singer, Petra Ptáčková. “Oskar and Lucka are both fantastic dancers, but they had experience before the show. Marta had to work much harder.”
Ptáčková’s sentiments are echoed by professional dancer, Marek Vodička, who has been Prágr’s partner for five seasons. “I’m cheering for my friend Martin. This is his first final, and after five years on the show, he truly deserves it. I didn’t even want to be in the elimination round with him!”
While Hes is considered the frontrunner, Dancingerová’s journey has been one of dedication and growth. Could her underdog story resonate with viewers and lead to a surprise victory? only time will tell.
The StarDance finale promises to be a night of dazzling performances and nail-biting suspense. Will Hes live up to expectations, or will Dancingerová pull off a stunning upset? Tune in to find out!
