Premalu: Tamil Version Receives Rave Reviews and Strong Opening Collection

In the age of OTT, films rarely generate much buzz among audiences beyond a month after their theatrical release. That’s what happened with the Malayalam movie Premalu. Released on February 9, the film started with a good opening collection on the first day itself, garnering good response from the audience. After going viral, the Telugu version of the movie set in Hyderabad was released last week. The Tamil version of Premalu hit the theaters this week, following on from the smash hit Manjummal Boys. Now the information about the opening collection achieved by the Tamil version is out.

The Telugu version of Premalu is distributed by SS Karthikeya while the Tamil version is distributed by Red Giant Udayanidhi Stal. The Tamil version was released on Friday. All major Tamil critics are raving about the film and the audience is also saying on social media that they have been entertained by the film.

According to South Indian Box Office trackers, Tamil version of Premalu has collected around 50 lakhs on the day of its release from Tamil Nadu. The positive feedback is also reflected in Saturday’s pre-orders. Theater owners in Tamil Nadu are worried about how much the film will earn this weekend. The film also has a good screen count. Meanwhile, the Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu versions of Premalu are currently being screened in Chennai. The three language versions are also better populated.
