Propagandist demands “blood on German streets” – dispute follows

read video transcript

The announcement that Ukraine will support the delivery of fighter jets has rekindled the debate in Russia about possible reactions to Western aid. Great Britain and the Netherlands had announced a fighter jet alliance, US President Biden promised to train the pilots.
In a panel discussion on Russian state television, political scientist Igor Shishkin takes a clear view of support from abroad:
“They won’t stop until they feel fear. Therefore there are two options: either to end the military special operation victoriously. But if that’s not possible at the moment for reasons, then they have to start suffering losses now.”
“If Germany sends tanks to kill Russian soldiers, then blood should cover Germany’s streets.”
Schischkin therefore proposes equipping opponents of the system in the countries with the appropriate weapons in order to support or even provoke acts of violence.
But the Russian author and propagandist Dmitry Lekuh vehemently disagrees:
“I’d rather we destroy London with a nuclear weapon, but not terrorism, no way!”
A dispute breaks out in the discussion:
“How do we differ from them if we do that? If that’s the case, what are we fighting for?”
“We fight for ourselves! We will fight for Russia to continue to exist and for the shedding of Russian blood to stop.”
“If we do that, we just stop being Russian. We won’t be Russians, we’ll become scumbags like them.”
The moderator tries to mediate between the quarrels – and shortly thereafter takes on another participant in the round.
One thing is clear: Concrete deliveries of fighter jets have not yet been decided, but Russia is following the announcements closely.
However, Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius does not see any real danger of a Russian retaliatory strike. He does not consider a possible delivery of F-16 fighter jets to be a further escalation level, he said in Brussels on Tuesday.
