Gahana had revealed that the Mumbai police had demanded a bribe of Rs 15 lakh to avoid arrest. In an interview to a television channel, Gahana alleged that there was pressure to make a statement against businessman Raj Kundra and producer Ekta Kapoor.
Actress and model Gahana Vashisht Vandana Tiwari was arrested by Mumbai police in February in connection with the blue film case. Gahana said that when he spoke before the arrest, the police team demanded Rs 15 lakh. The promise was to avoid arrest if paid. He refused to pay the bribe because he believed he had done nothing wrong. Gahana, who is accused in two cases, was arrested by the police. He was released on bail four months later. Defendant has now been added to a third case.
According to Gahana, Raj Kundra and Ekta Kapoor were forced to reveal their names while in police custody. I did not give in to that either. Gahana has admitted that she has acted in short films made by Raj Kundra to spread on the internet through the app called Hotshot. However, they cannot be described as blueprints. Raj Kundra, who was arrested on July 19 for filming and circulating blueprints, is currently in Arthur Road Jail in judicial custody. Gahana was summoned by the Crime Branch to appear before the court, but she did not appear. Gahana said he did not come to testify for fear of being arrested by the police in the new case and had filed a petition in the court for anticipatory bail.
A new case has been registered against Gahana following a complaint lodged by a Mumbai-based model. The model had lodged a complaint with the Malwani police station alleging that she had acted in the blue film under the misconception that she would be given a chance in a film by big producers. Apart from Gahana, four other filmmakers from Raj Kundra’s are also accused in the case.
