“Putin’s bloodhound” Ramzan Kadyrov poses with a luxury jacket from Louis Vuitton

Ramzan Kadyrov likes to show off his expensive clothes. Now he shows himself with a top by Louis Vuitton – which comes from the west he hates.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is known for his luxurious lifestyle. Whether it’s Prada boots or a Louis Vuitton punching bag – “Putin’s bloodhound” seems to attach great importance to luxury goods.

This is also confirmed by the latest recordings in his Telegram channel: Kadyrov is wearing a military-style jacket by Louis Vuitton. Cost point: 2,370 euros. On its website, the luxury brand advertises the oversized top with “responsibly sourced wool”, which makes up 90 percent of the garment.

What is surprising, however, is that Kadyrov keeps going back to Western brands when choosing his luxury items: Louis Vuitton is a French company, the jacket was made in Italy. In interviews, Kadyrov repeatedly agitates against the West and its arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Chaos in Bachmut

The content of his current telegram contribution is the current confusion about the fighting in Bakhmut: On Saturday, the head of the Wagner mercenary unit, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced that he would withdraw his troops from the Ukrainian city due to a lack of ammunition. Kadyrov then offered to take over the position.

A day later, the Wagner boss said he was getting ammunition supplies from Moscow after all. “We were promised as much ammunition and weapons as is necessary to continue the fighting,” it said on the Telegram channel of his press service.

Chechen leader Kadyrov wrote: “There was a bit of noise about the private military group, but it is important that we finish what we have started without unnecessary announcements on the Internet and to the whole world.” There are still some ambiguities with Wagner, “but we will take care of that,” said Kadyrov. However, these agreements would take place “face to face” and not in chat rooms or Telegram channels.

Kadyrov is said to lead more than 30,000 fighters

In Chechnya, an autonomous republic of the Russian Federation, Kadyrov has ruled with an iron fist since 2007. More than 30,000 fighters are said to belong to his private army, the notorious Kadyrovites. They are accused of kidnapping, torture and murder in many cases. Kadyrov has critics and opponents killed mercilessly, including abroad. He is known around the world as “Putin’s bloodhound”. In the war against Ukraine, Kadyrov is one of the hardliners within the Russian power structure.
