Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Surprising Endorsement

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently attended the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, where he made headlines with his comments on the upcoming US presidential election.

When asked about the election, Putin expressed his support for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, stating that he and his party will back her in the November election.

Putin’s comments come after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race in July and endorsed Vice President Harris as his successor. Harris will face Republican candidate Donald Trump in the election.

Putin described Biden as “our favorite” and urged allies to support Harris, saying, “That’s what we’ll do. I support her.” He also praised Harris’s “expressive face” and “inducing laugh,” suggesting that she is in good spirits.

Regarding candidate Trump, Putin noted that he imposed more sanctions on Russia than any other president has ever imposed before. However, he suggested that Harris might not follow the same path if she is in good form.

Ultimately, Putin emphasized that the choice of the American people will be respected, stating, “Who they ultimately choose will be the choice of the American people, and we will respect that choice.”

The US government has imposed sanctions on several executives of Russian state-run media outlets and restricted visa issuance for media personnel with ties to the Kremlin, accusing the Russian government of attempting to interfere in this year’s election through the media.
