Qatari League: Al-Ahly coach confirms the difficulty of the confrontation, and Al-Markhiya coach clings to hopes of remaining in the tournament

Doha, April 5 (QNA) – Portuguese coach Pedro Miguel, Al-Ahly team’s coach, stressed the difficulty of the confrontation against Al Markhiya, tomorrow, Saturday, at Al Thumama Stadium in the twentieth round of the Qatari Football League competitions, the Expo Stars League.

Miguel explained, during the press conference preceding the confrontation, that Al-Ahly played one of the lowest-level matches in years against Al-Shamal in the last round, especially in the first half, but he believes that this type of match happens to any team and it must learn from it and benefit from the lesson in order to achieve success. The best.

He pointed out that Al-Ahly did not deserve to win against Al-Shamal, and it was natural for it to lose, but that does not mean the end or that this is the true level of Al-Ahly, highlighting that the team has a lot that it has not yet presented on the field and that will appear in its remaining four matches in the league. The first of them will be against Al Markhiya in the next round.

The Portuguese coach stressed that the match will not be easy, and that Al Markhiya is a strong competitor regardless of its position in the overall league standings, and Al Ahly must provide the best technical level in order to reach the three points and restore the winning tone.

For his part, the Algerian coach, Madjid Bougherra, the coach of the Al Markhiya team, expressed his hope that his team would be able to achieve a winning result in its competition race to escape from the danger zone and be relegated to the second division.

The Algerian coach pointed out that his team has four matches to fight and continue in the league, indicating that the chances of survival still exist despite the six points difference that separates it from Muaither, which is in eleventh place from last with 14 points.

Bougherra expressed his great confidence in his team, pointing out that it performed well in the last match against Al Sadd despite the loss (1-2) in the last round.

Al-Ahly is in eighth place with 20 points on goal difference from Umm Salal, ninth in the standings, while Al-Markhiya is in twelfth and last place with 8 points.
