Ranji Trophy; Goa struggles, Kerala hits back Sports | Deshabhimani

Goa got a new lease of life when Kerala disappeared in bat and ball. Kerala’s first innings ended with 265 runs in Ranji Trophy cricket. When play was suspended on the second day, Goa scored 200 runs for the loss of five wickets. The curiosity today is that Goa will take the lead with five wickets in hand.

Kerala started the second day with 247 runs for the loss of five wickets and got 18 runs. Rohanprem, who was on top with 112 runs, got out on the first ball. Captain Sijomon Joseph (7) and Jalaj Saxena (12) could not raise the score. Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun took two wickets for Goa. Sijomon and Basil Thampi (1) got the wickets. Lakshay Garg took four wickets for Goa.

Opener Ishan Gadekar and skipper Darshan Misal rescued struggling Goa with 87 runs for the loss of three wickets. Both are at the top. Ishan scored 76 runs off 154 balls. Darshan is on top with 37 runs. Sijomon took three wickets for Kerala. Vaishakh Chandran and Jalaj have a wicket each.
