Real Madrid’s Depth a Concern
Despite potential absences in Real Madrid’s defense, Giráldez remains wary. “They have an impressive workforce depth, young people ready to shine at the Bernabéu. Even diminished, they will be ultra-competitive,” he said. He specifically mentioned players from Real Madrid’s reserve team, Castilla. “We know them.Castilla is a very high-level team, with players who have been chosen and who are entirely ready to play in the first division on a scene like the Bernabéu, which is their dream. Here,we have good examples of players from the youth teams who are ready to play in the first division.”
Learning from Past Encounters
Giráldez pointed to their previous Copa del Rey match as a learning experience. “In the cup, we had held in defense, but we fell in love with extra time. This time, it’s 90 minutes, but at this level, each relaxation is paid cash.”
Controlling the Game
To secure a victory, Giráldez stressed the importance of maintaining possession. “you have to keep the ball, keep them in their camp, and force them to run. We cannot leave them the initiative.”

Arbitration should not be an excuse.” He emphasized the importance of adhering to their game plan. “I know how we want to play. We must have the ball provided that possible, even if it is indeed true that there are matches, like against Barça, where we could not have it as long as we wanted and where we almost won current in transition, as we have the resources to do it too.”
Aware of Real madrid’s Strengths
“We know that it will be crucial to defend well, both in attack and when we are close to our goal. We certainly know the potential of Real Madrid, which is able to make transitions on any of our ball losses. On the set kicks, they also do a lot of damage. It is indeed a high-level team that has all the arguments to hurt you, and we must be perfect, be more faithful than ever in our way of playing.”
Respect for the Opposition
Giráldez concluded by highlighting Real Madrid’s overall strength. “They are very powerful. This season, they won two titles, they were second in two others, they reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, they fight for La Liga… they will always be difficult to beat.”
