The government has begun recall measures after dangerous substances above the standard were found in children’s bags and toys imported from China.

The National Technology and Standards Agency of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that, as a result of carrying out an investigation into children’s products and household goods, it had issued a recall order for eight products that did not meet safety standards.

The recalled models included 7 children’s products and 1 household item, the ‘Heart Pink Mini Bag’ imported and sold from China was found to contain lead which exceeded 24.9 times the standard.

The National Intelligence Service recently said it would further strengthen market surveillance activities as foreign direct purchases increase.
