FC Red Bull Salzburg has secured the loan signing of Danish winger Jesper Lindstrøm from Serie A club Napoli for the remainder of the season, according to announcements by both clubs on September 1, 2026. The 26-year-old attacker joins the Austrian Bundesliga side without a purchase option, bringing extensive international experience across four major European leagues.
International Background and Career Path
Lindstrøm arrives in Salzburg after a winding career path that included stops in Denmark, Germany, Italy, and England. During his spell in the German Bundesliga, Lindstrøm recorded 70 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists. However, Lindstrøm struggled to secure a permanent place in the Italian side’s starting lineup, managing 22 Serie A appearances before embarking on a series of temporary moves. He spent time on loan with Everton in the English Premier League and most recently played for VfL Wolfsburg, where a series of injuries limited him to 15 appearances as the club suffered relegation from the German top flight.
