Rinku was assaulted by a young woman from Koyilandy in 2018 while working as a security guard at a private hospital in Aluva. The woman was leaving her scooter in the car parking area of ​​the hospital. This prompted the hospital authorities to remove the ring from there. Angered by this, the young woman slapped Rinku in the face in front of people. The battered ring remained unresponsive for fear of repercussions. Video footage of the incident was widely circulated and later made headlines in the media.

After the incident, many people came to Rinku with offers of help. An engineering student in Karnataka, he dropped out of school halfway through his studies due to lack of money to pay his fees, and then worked as a security guard to support his only dependent mother. Meanwhile, the girl was beaten and unexpected incidents took place. Baiju’s job offer also reached out to Rinku, amid offers of help from various walks of life.

Baiju told Asianet News Online that when the incident came to the notice of the media and later came to know about Rinku’s condition, they wanted to help him. But Rink was unable to accept a job offer in the UAE because his mother had to complete heart surgery. Baiju said that when he contacted the ring later after the surgery, he intervened and completed all the steps for the job as soon as possible.
