It’s been almost exactly three years since the release of Resident Evil Village and we still haven’t heard anything about a possible sequel, aside from a bunch of rumors.
One of the people historically knowledgeable about the series is insider Dusk Golem, and he has now written that Resident Evil 9 appears to have been delayed, something that is common with the Resident Evil series. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know what’s going on, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a long time to see the game, which was previously rumored to launch in 2025.
According to Dusk Golem, this could now lead to Capcom announcing and releasing another Resident Evil game before the ninth main installment is announced. A reasonable guess is that it will be a remake of the Dreamcast classic Resident Evil Code: Veronica or Resident Evil 5.
However, these are just vague rumors at the moment, but as far as Dusk Golem is concerned, this is an insider who has been more right than wrong in the past.
