Busan City to Host ‘AI+X Conference’ to Foster Industry Innovation

Busan City announced on the 23rd that it will hold an ‘AI+X Conference’ at BEXCO from October 1st to 2nd to discuss ways to innovate the industry by fusing local key industries with artificial intelligence.

This event, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Science and ICT, South Gyeongsang Province, Daegu City, Ulsan City, North Gyeongsang Province, and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, was organized as part of the ‘Establishment of a Manufacturing Artificial Intelligence Convergence Base’ project, a cooperative project among five cities and provinces in the Yeongnam region in accordance with the artificial intelligence regional expansion strategy promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The ‘AI+X Conference’ is a platform where the country’s top experts in the field of artificial intelligence, regional strategic industries, and startups gather to discuss ways to innovate and grow regional industries through the transformation of artificial intelligence.

The main program consists of expert lectures and discussions on AI transformation and innovation plans for future industries, AI application cases in the manufacturing sector, current status and success stories of AI startup ecosystems, and AI convergence plans in the finance, film, and tourism industries.

Success stories of AI convergence will be introduced by members of the Presidential Committee on Digital Platforms, including Jung-woo Ha and Soon-young Oh, director Kwon Han-seul, winner of the grand prize at the 1st Dubai International AI Film Festival in 2024, and promising local startups Santa CEO Ki-woong Park and Tyrell CEO Chang-hee Jang.
