Rise of the Robots: How Hyundai Motor Company is Revolutionizing Industry with Innovative Robotic Solutions
Boston Dynamics releases a new video of a humanoid robot
Boston Dynamics, Hyundai Motor Group’s robotics affiliate, released a new video for the first time in six months. In the video, the humanoid robot recognized and moved objects correctly, and continued its work by learning and correcting itself even during movement failures.

On the 30th of last month (local time), Boston Dynamics released a video showing the Atlas humanoid robot working as a human in a factory. In the video, Atlas played the role of moving car engine cover parts into a portable storage container.
Atlas uses a machine learning vision model to recognize the location and type of parts, determine the exact grip point, and pick up the object. After that, objects were placed in the storage space for each part of the portable storage box.
In addition, it even responded to situations where the Atlas operation failed. In the video, Atlas made the mistake of getting a part stuck in the storage space while performing work, but he immediately corrected his posture and continued to work normally again.
Boston Dynamics emphasized that “there was no remote operation during the performance process, and each movement is created independently through the robot’s cognitive judgment control process.”
The company then released an additional video of Atlas dressed as a hot dog performing the same task to celebrate Halloween Day on the 31st of last month. In this video, Atlas demonstrates excellent response capabilities, such as finding a mobile storage box that a person has secretly moved, finding its correct location, and continuing work.
An industry official said, “It is meaningful that Atlas has proven autonomous work capabilities with very little human intervention,” and added, “In particular, based on advanced technology, it seems that the delivery time can be accelerated to’ r production site quickly.”
This video was released six months after Boston Dynamics unveiled the second-generation Atlas model in April. Boston Dynamics is changing Atlas’ drive method from hydraulic to electric and developing it to strengthen the robot’s cognitive and judgmental capabilities using AI.
