Furthermore, a proposal has been put forth to introduce a work from home system for government office workers, ensuring their safety. Consequently, public parks and beaches in the area will remain closed until further notice, as an added preventive measure.

To mitigate the risk of the Nipah virus, all educational institutions, including Anganwadis, Madrasas, Learning Centers, and professional colleges, will remain closed on September 16. Previously, September 14 and 15 were also declared holidays. It is essential to note that university and PSC exams will continue as per the original schedule.

Progress in Testing and Treatment of Nipah Virus in Kozhikode

The relentless efforts to combat the Nipah virus continue as 18 samples have been sent for testing. Today, results for 11 samples are expected. It is disheartening to report that three individuals have already been diagnosed with Nipah and are currently undergoing treatment within the area. Earlier today and tomorrow (September 14 and 15) were declared as holidays . University and PSC exams remain unchanged.

Out of 18 samples sent for testing, the results of 11 may be received today. Currently, three people have been diagnosed with Nipah and are undergoing treatment in the area.
