Rupperswil Homicide: Therapy Claim Must Be Reviewed

The quadruple ‍murderer Thomas​ N. is‌ fighting for therapy during⁣ his imprisonment. the Federal court dismissed the appeal of the public prosecutor’s office. The canton must now continue the clarification process for a therapy.

The quadruple murder of Rupperswil shook Switzerland in 2015 and also made headlines internationally. For ⁣his deeds, Thomas N. is serving a life sentence,followed by regular detention. He has been demanding ‍therapy that ‌he can complete in prison for years, and he fought for‍ this until the Federal Court. Now the court has decided: the possibility must ⁤be examined.

N. submitted the request in 2024.Both ‍the Office for Execution of Penalties and the superior department rejected it. in October 2025, the Administrative Court partially ‌upheld a complaint. It was the public prosecutor’s office that disagreed with this ​decision and therefore appealed ⁣too the Federal Court.
