Russia receives new infantry fighting vehicles, the Netherlands is about to deliver F-16 to Ukraine

With a displacement of 2,600 tons, BRP Jose Rizal is 107m long and 13.8m wide, providing significant stability and durability for long missions at sea. Using a combined diesel and gas turbine engine system (CODAD) with four 12-cylinder MTU-STX diesel engines, the train can reach a maximum speed of up to 46km/h and a range of 8,300km. The ship is capable of operating continuously at sea for 30 days with a crew of about 110 people.

BRP Jose Rizal is equipped with modern weapon systems such as Super Rapid OTO Melara 76mm gunboat, Aselsan SMASH 30mm remote control gun system and 4 S&T Motiv K6 heavy machine guns.

One of the ship’s notable attack weapons is the SSM-700K C-Star missile, an anti-ship missile developed by Korea. The missile, which can reach speeds of Mach 0.95, uses GPS-assisted inertial guidance mid-course and active radar for terminal targeting. The missile has a range of more than 180km and is equipped with a jet engine.

In addition, BRP Jose Rizal also integrates advanced radars such as Hensoldt TRS-3D phased array radar for target search activities, Selex NA-25X fire control radar, and Safran optical-electronic surveillance system. PASEO NS and Elbit Systems Elisra NS9300A electronic warfare system.

* The Netherlands plans to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine

Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren has just announced that the country is considering delivering F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine this fall, after Denmark transferred the aircraft to Ukraine in the summer. .

Previously, the Netherlands committed to providing 24 US-made fourth-generation jets F-16 to Ukraine. This transfer commitment marks a turning point in Ukraine receiving international support in its conflict with Russia. The F-16 is expected to help strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities thanks to its integration of superior technology, including advanced radars that help minimize the disadvantages of being detected by Russian aircraft, and at the same time allow allowing Ukraine to detect and attack threats with greater precision, from greater distances.

However, equipping the Ukrainian armed forces with F-16s also poses many difficulties in training pilots and support staff as well as adjusting infrastructure. The training takes place in countries such as Denmark, Romania and the US, and can last for many months.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a fourth generation fighter aircraft developed by the American corporation General Dynamics. The aircraft can perform many missions such as bombing ground targets, providing combat support and suppressing enemy air defense systems, as well as reconnaissance and electronic warfare.

The F-16 is equipped with an advanced AN/APG-68 radar system, which enhances detection and tracking capabilities, allowing it to attack multiple targets at the same time. The flexibility and power of the F-16 comes from being equipped with high-performance jet engines, supporting offensive and defensive maneuvers in combat situations. Using the Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-229 jet engine, the F-16 can reach speeds above Mach 2. Relatively light structure combined with a 9.8m wingspan and wing load and force ratio propelled at high weight, helping to optimize the aircraft’s performance during air combat.
