Russia sent ships to the scene of the crime

The Danish military photographed Russian ships at the Nord Stream crime scene four days before the explosions. The pictures should remain secret.

Denmark confirms t-online research into the Nord Stream attack: There are 112 photos of Russian ships at the scene of the crime. They were made by the Danish Navy four days before the explosions. This emerges from a report in the Danish daily newspaper “Information”. The Danish Ministry of Defense confirmed the existence of the images, but wants to keep them secret to protect intelligence work.

Ships from Kaliningrad

Three weeks ago, t-online reported exclusively on special ships of the Russian military with cranes and mini submarines, which are said to have headed for the crime scene northeast of Bornholm on September 21 and 22, 2022. The information from security circles could be partially understood through satellite images and position databases. The Danish and Swedish armed forces also went on patrols at the time. Now it is clear: The Danish patrol boat “Nymfen” later encountered the Russian military at the scene of the crime.

“Information” had “requested access to the images and video footage of Russian ships taken on September 22, 2022 on board ‘P524 Nymfen’,” the newspaper writes. Whereupon the Ministry of Defense confirmed that it had identified 112 photos “which are covered by your application (…)”. However, access to them cannot be granted because they “are part of the intelligence work”. The ministry did not provide any further information.

Sweden suspects state actors

The statement fits the picture: According to the “New York Times”, the Swedish and Danish investigators allegedly distrust the leads that the German Attorney General is following and feel under pressure to counter the story that has become public through media reports. A “false flag” operation is in the air, i.e. a trace that was intentionally laid to cover up who the masterminds are.

The perpetrators “acted in the knowledge that they would leave traces,” said prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist, who was in charge of the investigation in Sweden last week. Given the explosives used, a very large number of actors are out of the question. A state as mastermind behind the attacks is still the most likely scenario. In the investigation, his authority is cooperating with Denmark, among others.

“Various Influencing Attempts”

“Zeit” and ARD had reported that German investigators suspect the sailing yacht “Andromeda” in particular to be connected to the attack. Traces of a six-man crew led to Ukraine. However, experts doubt many details of the thesis. Unconfirmed US intelligence information about a “pro-Ukrainian group” allegedly acting on a private basis, about which the “New York Times” wrote, is met with just as much skepticism.

An internationally widespread report on the blog by US journalist Seymour Hersh about the USA as the mastermind behind the attacks is considered dubious and largely refuted. Ljungqvist said he did not want to comment on individual media reports, but many of the “hot theories” could easily be ruled out. “The incident has obviously become an open arena for various influence attempts.”

On September 26, 2022, explosions destroyed the German-Russian Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines on the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Deliveries had stopped at that point, and Germany had already decided to end Nord Stream 2. Investigators in Germany, Denmark and Sweden assume sabotage.
