Russia-Ukraine War News: Russian warship Moskva that Ukraine claimed to hit sinks in Black Sea

President Vladimir Putin has warned that Western efforts to phase out Russian gas imports could hurt their economies.

Russia – Ukraine War News: Kyiv: Thursday was the day Russia suffered a major setback in the Ukraine war. Russia’s flagship warship Moscow sinks in the Black Sea. The ship, which was anchored in the Black Sea, exploded yesterday. When Ukraine claimed to have attacked the ship with its Neptune missiles, Russia’s explanation was that the ship’s ammunition had caused the explosion.

Russia has said in a statement that it had evacuated the ship’s crew following the blaze.

Meanwhile, President Vladimir Putin has warned that Western countries’ efforts to phase out gas imports after the European Union imposes sanctions on Russia’s fuel imports could adversely affect their economies. Putin said European efforts to find alternatives to Russian gas exports were “painful” for beginners of such policies.

“There is no justifiable alternative in Europe now,” he argued. Putin commented that “goods from other countries that can be sent to Europe, primarily from the United States, will cost many times more.” He added that this would affect the living standards of the people and the competitiveness of the European economy. The European Union depends on Russia for 40 percent of its natural gas and 25 percent of its fuel.
