Three people, including Mr Choi, were sentenced to 5 to 8 years in prison in the first trial for embezzling 7 billion won in jeonse deposits from a total of 31 victims in April, and appealed the verdict.

Investigative authorities are investigating, believing there may be more victims of chartered rentals who have been defrauded by Choi’s gang.
