However, by successfully establishing its own mobile application processor (AP) in an upcoming smartphone model, Samsung Electronics stands to regain trust in its system semiconductor technology and potentially boost its market share.

Market research firm Strategy Analytics reveals that Samsung Electronics presently holds a modest 7% share of the AP market in the second quarter of this year. In contrast, competitors like MediaTek, Qualcomm, Apple, and UNISOC enjoy more significant shares, standing at 30%, 29%, 19%, and 15% respectively. A positive response to the Exynos 2400 could position Samsung as a formidable contender in the market.

Industry-wide Push for In-house Semiconductor Development

Microsoft plans to unveil its self-developed AI semiconductor next month, while OpenAI, the developer behind ChatGPT, is exploring opportunities in semiconductor manufacturing.
