Sanju Samson leads Rajasthan Royals to victory over Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow: Rajasthan Royals won by seven wickets against Lucknow in the match led by captain Sanju Samson. Chasing Lucknow Super Giants’ target of 197 runs, Rajasthan Royals cruised to victory with one over to spare. Malayalee player Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel strengthened the team with half centuries. Sanju remained unbeaten on 71 off 33 balls with seven fours and four sixes. Jurel provided great support with 52 runs off 34 balls. The duo returned to the dugout after finishing the match on 78-3. Jos Buttler (34), Yashasvi Jayaswal (24) and Ryan Parag (14) are the other scorers.

Lucknow lost the toss and batted at their home ground at the Ekna Stadium. The Lucknow skipper scored 76 runs off 48 balls. Deepak Hooda (50 off 31 balls) provided excellent support. Sandeep Sharma took two wickets. Lucknow’s innings started with two wickets falling early. Lucknow lost the wickets of Quinton de Kock (8) and Marcus Stonis (0) with just 11 runs on the scoreboard in two overs. While de Kock was bowled by Trent Boult, Stonis was also dropped by Sandeep. After that, Hooda and Rahul added 115 runs.

Sanju and Jurel led Rajasthan, who lost Butler and Jaiswal, who were in good form in the reply innings.
