Sanju to continue the batting fireworks; The T20 series against South Africa starts today

India vs South Africa T20 cricket series starts today. The first game of the series will start at 8.30pm at the King’s Mead Stadium in Durban. Team India is confident of sweeping the series against Bangladesh. Malayali wicketkeeper Sanju Samson will be the opener in the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav. Abhishek Sharma is the co-opener.

Under captain Suryakumar Yadav, India are aiming for a hat-trick in the series. India have already won two T20 series after Surya took over the captaincy. India’s series win was against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Another special feature is that this is also a repeat of the T20 World Cup final 2024. India lifted the World Cup by defeating South Africa by seven runs that day.

Fans are waiting to see Malayalam player Sanju Samson’s batting feast. Sanju’s explosive performance against Bangladesh is expected to be replicated in Durban as well. Sanju scored a crucial century in the final match of the Bangladesh series. In 2023, Sanju also scored a century in an ODI against South Africa.

In the absence of Gautam Gambhir, VVS Laxman is the coach of the Indian team. Gambhir is preparing for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. In this position, Laxman was appointed coach for the tour to South Africa. Ramandeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vysakh and Yash Dayal are the new faces in the Indian team. Hardik Pandya is also in the team.

Meanwhile, the South African team led by Aiden Markram brings a strong line-up. The Proteas will also come to their home ground to settle the history of losing the Twenty20 World Cup final.
