Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet has decided to hold a vigilance probe against former power minister and senior Congress leader Aryadan Mohammad. The decision to conduct a preliminary inquiry was taken on the complaint of Saritha S Nair, the accused in the solar case, who took Rs 40 lakh as bribe while she was the power minister.
The allegation of bribery also came under the purview of the Solar Commission. However, Saritha complained to the Chief Minister that no further action had been taken on the complaint. The Cabinet considered the matter and approved the preliminary inquiry. The vigilance department will take further action.
