An apartment in Gangnam, Seoul, which was supposed to be built with expensive, domestically produced tempered glass, was revealed to be using cheap Chinese glass.
It emerged that the glass supplier won the contract by lowering the bid price and then secretly mixing it in more Chinese products with fake KS marks.

This is a large apartment complex in Gangnam that I moved into three years ago.
It is a luxury apartment complex that recorded the highest sale price ever at the time of sale, and has a banquet hall and sky lounge.
In addition, high quality tempered glass with three to four times higher strength was installed in various places so as not to obstruct the external view.
Only 4,000 sheets of tempered glass were used, but the KS mark stamped on most of the glass was a little unusual.

The subcontractor in charge of glass construction was secretly using glass products with fake KS marks.
At first glance, they look like the same product, but one side is an official product with the KS mark.

This glass company installed only 1,500 authentic domestically produced products, and installed the rest with counterfeit products imported from China.
At the time of the distribution contract, it was known that this company had managed to offer at a low price.

″(the subcontractor admitted) that 2,500 sheets had forged marks.″
GS E&C decided to replace all fake tempered glass and carry out safety checks on the products immediately.
The reason why companies secretly use low-cost materials from China is to lower the delivery price, win contracts, and increase profits.

“It’s mistaken for a domestic product, but I ‘switched the box’ and I use it often. The price of domestic products varies from 1.5 times to as much as 2 times.″
The glass construction company caught importing and supplying another fake product was fined in January.
