Search efforts continue for the cargo ship that lost contact in Zonguldak

In the statement made by AFAD, “Today, due to the adverse weather and sea conditions in our Zonguldak province, excessive rainfall and storms occurred in the region. 3 ships were affected by the adverse meteorological situation. Upon the notice that two ships ran aground in Ereğli, AFAD, the Coast Guard Command and fire brigade teams came to the region. was dispatched and search and rescue efforts were quickly initiated. As a result of the intensive search and rescue efforts carried out by the teams, a total of 25 crew members were rescued, 12 on the first ship and 13 on the second ship. Work on a cargo ship with 12 crew members on board and whose communication was lost continues uninterruptedly. “Our AFAD President, Governor Mr. Okay Memiş, has arrived in the region to coordinate the work on site.
