“Seek it in the Witr prayer.” The supplication of Laylat al-Qadr as taught by the Messenger to Mrs. Aisha

Today corresponds to the second of the odd-numbered nights of the last ten days of the month of Ramadan 1445 AH, so many Muslims are wondering about the supplication of Laylat al-Qadr 2024 and its signs. Perhaps it will happen today and they will benefit from its great virtue and reward. This blessed night is a night better than a thousand months, as God Almighty said in His Mighty Book: “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months” {Surat Al-Qadr: 3}.

The Egyptian Fatwa House previously explained that some jurists say that Laylat al-Qadr moves between the odd-numbered nights of the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, while other investigators believe that it corresponds to the night of the 27th, and others believe that it is the last odd-numbered night of Ramadan.

The fatwa continued that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, has guided us to seek out Laylat al-Qadr on these blessed days, especially on nights with odd numbers. On the authority of Ubadah bin Al-Samit, may God be pleased with him, he said: O Messenger of God, tell us about the Night of Destiny? The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “It is in Ramadan, seek it in the last ten days; So it is odd: on the twenty-one, or the twenty-third, or the twenty-fifth, or the twenty-seventh, or the twenty-nine, or on the last night, So whoever performs it with faith and seeking reward, his previous and future sins will be forgiven.” (Musnad of Imam Ahmad).

The virtue of Laylat al-Qadr

The fatwa explained that there were several hadiths regarding the virtue of observing Laylat al-Qadr, including that on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family – said: “Whoever prays Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Narrated by Muslim and Al-Bukhari. .

The reason for hiding the Night of Destiny from the servants

  • The sun rises white in the morning without any rays.
  • A pleasant, cold night, neither hot nor cold.

Supplication for the last ten days of Ramadan

  • O God, You are the Most Merciful and You love to forgive, so forgive us.
  • Oh God, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, and grant me health.
  • Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins, have mercy on us, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.
  • Oh God, we ask you for success in our paths and ease in our affairs, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.
  • Oh God, grant us success in every matter and achievement of every goal.
  • Oh God, grant us the pinnacle of knowledge.
  • Oh God, we reached much of the night.
  • Oh God, help our brothers in Palestine.
  • Oh God, protect us from the torment of hellfire.
