Officials Detained
Among those detained by the DCI are high-ranking officials responsible for the oversight and management of the country’s energy infrastructure and regulation.
- Mohamed Liban, the Energy Principal Secretary.
- Daniel Kiptoo, the Director General of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
- Joe Sang, the Managing Director of the Kenya Pipeline Company.
In addition to these arrests, detectives took Simon Wafula, a senior petroleum official, in for questioning as part of the same investigation.
