Seongnam Mayor Eun Soo-mi indicted… “Receive investigation secrets and listen to my request”

Seongnam Mayor Eun Su-mi, who is accused of granting an illegal solicitation from a police officer in charge, in exchange for receiving investigation materials for his own violation of the Political Fund Act, will be tried.

Prosecutors handed over ten people to trial as they saw it as systematic corruption involving Seongnam City, local police and brokers.

The silver market reacted immediately, saying it was “groundless.”

Seongnam Mayor Eun Su-mi was under investigation by the police on charges of providing a vehicle free of charge from a businessman who was a former gangster ahead of the 2018 election.

However, former mayor Eun, former secretary of the mayor Eun, revealed, “The intelligence team responsible for the case at the time, Inspector Kim Mo, would hand over the investigation secrets, so he demanded an interest in a local development project worth 400 billion won.”

Mayor Eun is also accused of receiving about 4 million won in cash and wine from his subordinates in the name of holiday gifts, etc.

Prosecutors defined it as an organized corruption in which Seongnam City provided business interests to certain businesses at the request of the police when the police handed over investigation secrets, and indicted 10 people in bulk.

Mayor Eun was sentenced to invalidation in the second trial for a case of violating the Political Funds Act, which even stole investigation secrets.

Mayor Eun’s side said, “The prosecution’s charges are not true at all, and it is impossible.”
