Here’s a breakdown of the text provided, summarizing the key information:
Main Point:
The text discusses a second strike by the U.S. military on a boat involved in drug smuggling, following an initial strike. The second strike was reportedly part of a pre-planned contingency to address potential survivor situations.
Key Details:
* Contingency Plan: The Pentagon had a plan in place before the initial military action against drug smuggling boats. This plan outlined how to handle potential survivors.
* Rescue vs.Further Action: The plan dictated that if survivors were no longer considered a threat (e.g.,shipwrecked and needing help),the military would attempt a rescue. However, the text implies that if survivors were still communicating or considered a threat, further action (like the second strike) would be taken.
* Image: The image shows Pete Hegseth, identified as the Secretary of Defense, speaking during a cabinet meeting with President Donald Trump in December 2025.
* Source: The information comes from a source “familiar with the incident.”
* Incomplete Thought: The text ends mid-sentance (“But if they were deemed to be in communications wit…”), leaving the thought unfinished.
In essence, the text suggests a nuanced approach by the U.S. military, balancing the need to neutralize threats with a consideration for potential humanitarian concerns (rescue of non-threatening survivors).
