Shane Warne: Two players can take 1000 wickets in Tests; Vaughn by name

Sydney: Legendary spinners Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan are in doubt. Vaughan is the second highest wicket-taker in Test cricket with 708 wickets in 145 Tests. Vaughan has taken 37 five-wicket hauls and 10 10-wicket hauls. Former Sri Lankan spin legend Muraleedharan is the leading wicket – taker with 800 wickets.

But Vaughan is talking about two players who have the potential to break the record. According to Vaughan, India’s R Ashwin and Australia’s Nathan Lyon are the only batsmen to take at least 1,000 wickets in Tests. “Both are world-class spinners. Both are capable of throwing quality balls. Cricket becomes more exciting when they are there. Ashwin and Lyon are believed to be capable of taking 1000 wickets in Tests, ”said Vaughan.

Even though Vaughn said this, it would be difficult for both of them to break the record. Ashwin currently has 430 wickets in 84 Tests. But Ashwin can shine in the Indian context. Nathan Lyon, 34, is a great spinner, but he’s not going to break the record of Warne and Muraleedharan. He currently holds 415 wickets in 105 Tests.

Ashwin still has three or four years left in Test cricket. Maybe Ashwin will be able to overtake Vaughan. He has the best record on Indian pitches. But overcoming Murali will not be easy.
