Shirakawa Mina’s US Tour: A Journey to Stardom
Shirakawa Mina, a renowned wrestler from Stardom, embarked on a one-month tour of America in August. This period coincided with the single league tournament “5★STAR GP”, which she had participated in three times in the past. However, this year, she chose to forgo the tournament and instead pursue an opportunity with AEW in the United States.
Shirakawa’s decision to join AEW was not taken lightly. She had been considering her options carefully, weighing the pros and cons of each choice. ”This is already a gamble. A gamble to make myself shine. I’m not young anymore, so I’m always thinking about what I need to do to get to the top in the limited time I have,” she explained.
Shirakawa’s journey to AEW began with her US debut on March 13th, where she competed against Ana Jay at ROH. Her impressive performance caught the attention of AEW, leading to a rematch against Ana in April. This rematch marked her AEW debut and paved the way for her future collaborations with the organization.
In June, Shirakawa began traveling back and forth between Japan and the US, competing in various tournaments and events. One notable match was against Serena Deeb, a former WWE wrestler who had made headlines after shaving her head. Shirakawa also participated in a signing ceremony for the AEW Women’s World Championship, where she showcased her fluent English skills in front of a large crowd.
Shirakawa’s experience in the US was not limited to her matches. She also had the opportunity to form a trio with Mariah May, a wrestler she had previously paired with in Japan. This collaboration was a groundbreaking moment, as it brought their relationship to America and incorporated it into the AEW storyline.
Shirakawa’s opponents in the US included Saraya, a former WWE Paige and a superstar who had served as the manager of Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane). Saraya’s autobiographical story of challenging WWE from a family-run organization in the UK has been made into a movie titled “Fighting Family” produced by “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson.
Shirakawa’s US tour was a gamble, but it ultimately paid off. She gained valuable experience, formed new relationships, and showcased her skills to a new audience. As she continues to navigate the world of professional wrestling, it will be exciting to see what the future holds for this talented athlete.
