According to the Yeongdeok Police Station, on the 22nd, around 6:50 p.m., a part of a bone believed to be a human thigh was discovered on a hill in Daeburi, Yeongdeok-eup, Yeongdeok-gun.

This bone was presumed to be the remains of Mr. A, a man in his 50s who disappeared a year ago. The location where it was discovered is close to where Mr. A was reported missing.

Police received a statement from the family that “the pants and shoes appear to belong to Mr. A.”

Mr. A disappeared from a mountain in Daeburi at around 10:51 am on September 18 last year.

Police plan to continue searching for any remaining remains.

A police officer said: “We have obtained a statement from the elder brother that the shoes and other items found appear to belong to the missing younger brother, but the damage was so severe that the exact identity will only be known once the DNA results are back.”
