Some government agencies have also refused to comply with Mikati’s orders. Lebanese Education Minister Abbas Halaby said that Mikati’s decision had no legal effect. because it was not brought up in the cabinet meeting and does the government have discussions and approval on such matters The Ministry of Education will follow immediately. But for now, the ministry will stick to the daylight saving time adjustment first.

Lebanon’s national carrier, Middle East Airlines, said its watches would remain in place during the winter. But the flight schedule will be adjusted to daylight saving time to match the international flight schedule.
