South Gate Shooting Leaves Two Women Dead, One Wounded; Suspect Dies by Suicide

A domestic violence incident in South Gate, California, resulted in the deaths of two women and left a third hospitalized with gunshot wounds on Saturday, november 16, 2025.The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department is investigating the shooting and an officer-involved shooting that occurred during the response.
Initial Response and Officer-Involved shooting
At approximately 8:400 block of San Luis Avenue after receiving a 911 call reporting a man discharging a firearm.As officers arrived,the suspect reportedly fired upon them,prompting a return of fire. The suspect was struck by gunfire and retreated inside the residence, where additional shots were heard.
Victims and Suspect
Upon entering the home, deputies discovered a woman in her 70s suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. Two other women, a 25-year-old and a woman in her early 50s, were found deceased at the scene. The suspect was later found dead inside the residence from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigation Underway
The weapon used in the shooting, and in the exchange of gunfire with officers, was recovered at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau is leading the investigation, which includes a thorough review of the officer-involved shooting.
