A ⁣domestic violence incident in South Gate,⁢ California, resulted in the deaths of ​two women⁤ and ⁤left a third hospitalized ⁣with gunshot wounds on Saturday, november 16, 2025.The Los Angeles County ‌Sheriff’s department is investigating ⁢the shooting and an officer-involved shooting ‍that occurred during the response.

Initial Response and Officer-Involved ‌shooting

At approximately 8:400 block of San Luis Avenue after receiving a 911 call reporting ⁤a man discharging a firearm.As officers arrived,the suspect⁣ reportedly fired upon them,prompting a‌ return of ​fire. The suspect was struck by gunfire and retreated inside the ⁣residence, where additional shots were heard.

Victims and ⁤Suspect

Upon entering the home, ‍deputies‍ discovered a woman⁢ in her‍ 70s suffering from gunshot wounds. She⁣ was transported to a local hospital and⁢ is‍ currently listed in stable condition. ⁢ Two other women, a 25-year-old and a woman in her early‍ 50s, were found⁤ deceased at the scene. The suspect was later found ⁣dead inside ‍the ⁤residence from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigation Underway

The‍ weapon ⁢used in the shooting, and ‍in the exchange of gunfire with officers,⁢ was recovered at the scene.​ The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s ‌Department’s Homicide Bureau is⁢ leading the​ investigation,​ which includes a thorough review of the officer-involved shooting.
