St. Thomas Ecumenical Federation of North America Hosts Grand Celebration

New York City, NY – The St. Thomas Ecumenical Federation of North America organized a magnificent St. Thomas Day celebration on Sunday, July 15. The event took place at the CSI Jubilee Memorial Church in Williston Park, attracting a diverse congregation of devout Christians. Led by the esteemed Rev. Shaji Kochumman, priests and religious individuals from various congregations across New York were also present, fostering a strong sense of unity and mutual respect.

A Spiritual Gathering Embraced with Reverence

Under the leadership of President Shaji Kochumman, participants were treated to a series of solemn and uplifting moments. Distinguished guests, including the Reverends VT Thomas, Jibin Thambi, and John Davidson Johnson, were in attendance and extended warm greetings to the devout assembly. Dr. Rachel George delivered a captivating Bible reading, filling the atmosphere with a sense of divine presence. Furthermore, the ecumenical choirs of the Orthodox Church, CS I Jubilee Memorial Church, and the New York Voices for Christ Choir graced the occasion, soulfully enthralling everyone with their melodious hymns.

Building Bridges and Looking Forward

The dedicated convenors, John Tamaravelil and Thomas Jacob, took the opportunity to provide an exciting glimpse into the future events of the Ecumenical Federation. They highlighted upcoming activities such as the highly anticipated Ecumenical Picnic and the grand Ecumenical Dinner. Tickets for the picnic were announced to be available for sale, generating a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation among the attendees.

A Encouraging Words of Prayer and Appreciation

The St. Thomas Day celebration concluded with solemn prayers led by distinguished individuals. PM Thomas set the spiritual tone with a poignant opening prayer, while the Vice President, Rev. John Thomas, gracefully offered the closing prayer, sending the congregation off with a sense of divine blessings. Program convener, Mr. Kalamthi Varghese, graciously welcomed all attendees, and the Joint Secretary, Mr. Mathukutty Eso, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Ecumenical Federation.

A Meticulously Organized Event

The occasion was skillfully managed by the Master of Ceremonies, Lisa George. She flawlessly orchestrated all proceedings, ensuring a smooth flow throughout the program. The diligent efforts of Rev. Sam N. Joshua, Don Thomas, Thomas Varghese, and Vipin Abraham in coordinating the event’s logistics and arrangements were also acknowledged and appreciated.
