Marvel Comics is kicking off January 2027 with a milestone Star Wars crossover that bridges a galaxy far, far away with the publisher’s mainstream universe, Mynock Manor reported. In a breakdown of the January 2027 solicitations, Mynock Manor detailed that the publisher has slated only two Star Wars comic book releases for the month. That sparse lineup arrives as the franchise approaches its 50th anniversary in 2027.
Star Wars And Marvel Universe Crossover Details
The headline release for the month is Star Wars | Marvel: Hope Assembles #1, a five-issue limited series written by Kevin Smith and drawn by David Marquez. According to Marvel’s solicitations, a reality-shattering spell causes the events of A New Hope to land squarely on Earth-616. The narrative brings together characters including the Avengers, Spider-Man, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Darth Vader, and Doctor Doom. Mynock Manor noted that the debut issue spans 40 pages and carries a $5.99 price tag with an included digital code.

Variant cover rollouts for the launch include contributions from Alex Ross, Kaare Andrews, Cory Smith, Rafael Albuquerque, Dan Jurgens, Rogê Antônio, and Matteo Lolli. Mynock Manor questioned the allocation of resources toward a crossover rather than stories expanding the Star Wars lore directly, while noting that the project leans heavily on collector appeal across both fanbases.
Ahsoka Season Two Tie-In And Ezra Bridger Story
Alongside the crossover, Marvel will publish Ahsoka: Escape from Thrawn #1 on January 20, 2027, based on a story by series creator Dave Filoni with a script by Rodney Barnes and art by Andrea Di Vito. The comic covers Ezra Bridger’s clandestine flight aboard Grand Admiral Thrawn’s flagship after escaping exile beyond the known galaxy. Mynock Manor highlighted this title as the standout comic book release for January 2027, pointing to the narrative hook of Ezra dodging Captain Enoch and Nightsister magick aboard the Chimaera.

Additional variant covers for the Ahsoka tie-in are provided by Phil Noto, Rod Reis, Takashi Okazaki, and Ken Lashley. Mynock Manor noted that the book arrives as a companion piece timed around the second season of the Disney+ television series.
Mad Cave Studios And Papercutz Schedule
Beyond Marvel’s early year offerings, new Star Wars comic licensee Mad Cave Studios has scheduled its next project under the Papercutz imprint for March 2027. Mynock Manor reported that the publisher announced several stories, leaving a quiet window for the imprint at the very start of January.
Expanded January 2027 Marvel Comics Solicitations
Marvel Comics’ January 2027 solicitations also launch Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles #1, Immortal Soldiers #1, Spider-Punk, and Thwip. The X-Men get a multiversal showdown in X-Men ’92: Incursions #1, and Uncanny X-Men doubles up for the month with issues #41 and #42. Additional January launches and returns include Challenges Of Doom: Magneto, What The–?! #1, and more Incursions.
