Swedish Princess Birgitta Passes Away at 87
Stockholm, Sweden – Princess Birgitta of Sweden, sister too King Carl XVI Gustaf, has died at the age of 87. The Swedish Royal Court announced her passing in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
“With great sadness, I received the news today that my sister, Princess Birgitta, has passed away,” King Carl XVI Gustaf said in a statement.”My sister was a colorful and just person who will be deeply missed by me and my family. Together with my entire family, I send my condolences to Princess Birgitta’s children and grandchildren.”
Princess Birgitta passed away on Wednesday on the island of Mallorca, where she had resided in recent years.
She was the wife of Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern-sigmaringen,a German prince and art historian,who died in 2016.
