Violent Marriage
In January 2016, Sylvia married Rogelio Castro Martinez, a Mexican man she had met shortly before their marriage through social media. The two tied the knot, but according to Sylvia, Rogelio turned out to be ‘psycho’. In 2018, she told RTL Boulevard more about the violent marriage.
Initially, Rogelio pretended to have his own home, but once married, he revealed that he was still living with his parents. “I ended up on a mattress in the attic. I wanted to make something of it, build something together,” she said.
It didn’t stop there.After their marriage, Rogelio’s attitude changed wholly. “Was locked up behind a fence. With a long dress and compulsory church. He even scooped my food up.”
Sylvia decided not to accept the behavior and packed her bags, but discovered she was pregnant. Shortly after, she lost the baby.”Soon after, I became pregnant again, this time with twins. That also ended in a miscarriage in 2017,” she told Grazia.
In the spring of 2017, she decided to gather her courage and leave Rogelio. However, to completely get rid of him, the divorce papers still had to be signed, something he was totally unwilling to do.”We’ve been apart for so long. I don’t care what he thinks or says. That man has lost it. I want to put this behind me now. I’m busy with my career and don’t want to look back at this anymore,” she told RTL Boulevard in 2018.
In May 2018, Sylvia openly shared her story about the stalking by her ex, whom she was still legally married to. Rogelio continued to post photos of them together at that time and even went so far as to put a video of their unborn child online.
Sylvia showed RTL Boulevard two videos that Rogelio had sent her,in which his violent side clearly emerged. In one video, he destroys their wedding ring, and in the second, he threatens to murder her new boyfriend. “Should I go look for him? Do you want me to murder him, darling?” could be seen and heard while Rogelio walked around with a knife.
In October 2023, after seven years of struggle, the divorce was finally finalized.’Finally after seven years,’ Sylvia wrote on Instagram stories at the time.

even leek het stil rond Sylvia’s liefdesleven, totdat ze in 2023 deelnam aan De bachelorette. Twintig single mannen reisden af naar Zuid-Afrika om haar hart te veroveren. Hoewel de zoektocht emotioneel was en vaak gepaard ging met tranen, vond Sylvia uiteindelijk de man van haar dromen, althans, dat dacht ze.
Joris Smits werd aan het eind van het avontuur haar keuze. ondanks hun verschillende levensstijlen vonden ze langzaam hun weg samen. In mei 2023 bespraken ze zelfs hun kinderwens en wilden ze binnen een jaar ouders worden.”Dat heb ik een beetje zo ingepland. Ik vind zes maanden heel lang, want als het aan mij had gelegen had ik vandaag nog naar de dokter gegaan van: haal dat ding [spiraaltje, red.] eruit”, vertelde Sylvia aan RTL Boulevard.
Het sprookje liep echter anders: in januari 2024 gingen ze uit elkaar. Op Instagram Stories schreef Sylvia dat dit ‘de juiste keuze was voor hen beiden’. ‘Onze tijd samen is een waardevol hoofdstuk in ons leven geweest,gevuld met liefde,groei en mooie herinneringen. We koesteren de momenten die we samen hebben gedeeld en kijken met respect en genegenheid terug op onze tijd samen’, aldus Sylvia.
Sylvia Geersen has found love again with Piet, and she’s openly sharing her happiness. On Instagram, she wrote, “The man I always dreamed of,” alongside a photo of piet. “With you, everything feels pure, powerful, and real.”
To seal their love, Piet got a tattoo of Sylvia’s name. ‘Forever and ever’, Sylvia added. Their happiness peaked when Piet proposed on January 16th. “Piet is the love of my life,” she said a few days later on RTL Boulevard.
The couple plans to marry quickly and start a family. “I also want a baby as soon as possible,” Sylvia shared,showing off her sparkling engagement ring. “He is the last piece of the puzzle I was looking for.”
