Taekwondo Instructor Arrested as Main Suspect in Sydney Family Murder Case

Australian police arrested a Taekwondo instructor as a suspect in the murder of a Korean family in Sydney.

On the 21st (local time), Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) state police held a press conference and announced that they had arrested a 49-year-old Korean man, Mr. Yoo, on charges of murdering three members of a corporation. family in western Sydney.

Then, at around 1pm on the same day, the bodies of a 41-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy were discovered at a Taekwondo gym in North Parramatta. It was determined that they were Mr Cho’s wife and son. The child was said to attend the Taekwondo gym in question.

After an investigation, the police arrested Mr Yu, who was being treated in hospital, as a suspect in the murder. The police explained that they were focusing on Mr Yu’s individual crime and that there was enough evidence to charge him with murder.

The police reported that Mr Yoo strangled a woman and her child to death in a Taekwondo gym between 5:30 and 6:30 on the 19th, then drove to Cho’s house in Bolcom Hills and killed Cho who was there.

It is said that Mr. Yoo has been a Taekwondo player in NSW since he was a teenager and has won awards in a number of Taekwondo competitions held in Korea and Australia.

Australian police are working with the South Korean Consulate General in Sydney to contact other members of the Cho family.
