Police Halt Driver Traveling at 10 km/h on Dutch Highway
Police in Leijdal, Tilburg, Netherlands, encountered a motorist traveling at just 10 kilometers per hour (approximately 6 miles per hour) on the Midden-Brabantweg between Tilburg and Waalwijk on Thursday night. Prior to the traffic stop, officers had observed the vehicle being pushed, reportedly due to a depleted battery.
Vehicle Deemed Unsafe for Road Use
Upon questioning, the driver stated the vehicle was only capable of reaching a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour (approximately 31 miles per hour). Officers informed the driver that this speed was insufficient and that operating the vehicle on the roadway was illegal. the vehicle was subsequently parked.
Warning Issued for Future Violations
Authorities warned the driver that a fine would be issued should they attempt to drive the vehicle on public roads again. According to a police statement on Instagram, the driver still had an estimated 40 minutes of travel remaining.
