All generations of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class share one thing in common – they always come with something that no other production cars have yet. And it’s no coincidence that what the “S-Class” has today, cars for ordinary mortals will have in twenty years. The car manufacturer has just unveiled the facelift of the W223 generation, so let’s take a look at what we can look forward to.
Firstly, one thing that almost certainly won’t make it into other cars – dozens of stars. The exterior design of the S-Class has changed according to current trends in general and within the design of the Stuttgart brand – the front mask is larger,has a luminous outline and there are stars all over the car. The rear lights have three each, there are two in each headlight at the front and lots of other small, chrome ones can be seen in the mask. The brain of the car is the MB.OS operating system, which the press release describes as a supercomputer. It manages both driving systems including assistance and those for semi-autonomous driving,as well as the MBUX infotainment system. It can stop dozens of shots from assault rifles, such as the world-famous AK47, and also a hit from a sniper rifle with 54×7.62 R armor-piercing ammunition.
