Kabul: The Taliban government in Afghanistan has reportedly avoided taking the oath of office. According to the Russian News Agency, the ceremony was canceled to prevent money being wasted.

Yesterday, the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, there were indications that the Taliban government would be sworn in. Russia, China, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran were invited to the event. Russia has said it will not take oaths on September 11.

Ruhullah Azizi, the elder brother of former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Salihi, and his driver were shot dead by the Taliban in Panchsheer. Salihi’s nephew, Ibadullah Salih, told the Reuters news agency that the Taliban had not even agreed to bury his body.

Ruhullah Aziz, who was traveling in a car through Panchsheer, was detained by the Taliban at a checkpoint on Thursday. Taliban militants soon opened fire on him and his driver.

He was reportedly killed while trying to escape from Panchsheer to Kabul. The Taliban also confirmed that Ruhullah was killed. The Taliban did not say where he was killed.

The Taliban captured Panchsheer after days of fighting.
