The BCCI has ruled out Dhoni’s services as a mentor in the T20 World Cup

Mumbai: Former India captain M.S. BCCI pays no salary to Dhoni: Secretary Jay Shah Shah told ANI that he had not asked for any honorarium for Dhoni’s services as an advisor to the Indian team.

Earlier, when the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup was announced, Dhoni was appointed as the team’s mentor to guide the Indian team.

While many welcomed Dhoni’s return to the crucial role of Team India, the BCCI was criticized by Ajay Jadeja and Gautam Gambhir.

However, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that Dhoni was tasked with helping the team in the World Cup.

‘Dhoni has a great record in the T20 format for Team India and Chennai Super Kings. The decision to appoint Dhoni came after much deliberation and discussion.

Team India has not won an ICC title since 2013. Remember when Steve Waugh was on a similar task with the Australia team when they drew 2-2 in the last Ashes in England. The presence of such strongmen is beneficial in big tournaments, ‘said Ganguly.
