The company that owns the Lions bus is calling on Fecafoot to return his vehicle
In a correspondence addressed to the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence, in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Yves Landry Etoga, the Acting General Secretary of Fecafoot, Blaise Djounang, outlined the logistical preparations for the movement of the Indomitable Lions. The latter will leave Yaoundé on August 31 at 3:00 am for their match against Namibia, scheduled for September 7, 2024 at the Roumde Adjia stadium.
In this letter, SG Samuel Eto’o also called for the implementation of extraordinary measures to guarantee the safety of the bus intended to transport the players.
However, it seems that the situation is complicated, because the owner of the bus, the company TRANS UNIVERSEL VOYAGES SA, demands the immediate return of his vehicle.
Indeed, the company accuses Fecafoot of “fraud”, claiming that its bus was seized since the last Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) without authorization. In correspondence received by the editorial staff of 237actu.com, the company discusses the adverse effect of this situation on its activities and remembers that using its bus without a registration document, valid insurance or technical inspection could expose passengers to legal risks.
“The company TRANS UNIVERSEL VOYAGES SA considers that it is the victim of a situation of hijacking its bus and that Fecafoot’s attitude, which is very prejudiced, is intolerable and cannot continue. Based on the above, he therefore requests, within 24 hours of receiving this letter, that his improperly detained bus be returned,” we read in the company’s letter.
